Business Volunteers for the Arts
We are currently celebrating 30 years of BVA service. Here are just a few of our reasons for becoming a volunteer consultant.
Reason #6
It’s close, convenient and creative.
We match participants with arts organizations that are close to their office, home or heart.
- Reason #17 You won’t be thrown to the wolves.
We carefully match each volunteer with a cultural organization that is excited about learning new skills from a business consultant, and we provide support as needed throughout each project. - Reason #24 Results.
You’ll see almost from your first meeting with an arts organization what an impact you are having, and by the end of a project you’ll know that you made a real difference.
Business Volunteers for the Arts (BVA) strengthens the management of nonprofit arts organizations and provides business professionals with experiential learning by engaging them as volunteer management consultants.
BVA volunteers consult with arts and cultural organizations in areas such as strategic planning, financial management, marketing, public relations, special event planning and human resources.
Our success is longstanding. The Arts & Business Council of Greater Philadelphia has provided this program since 1981 and is among 15 Arts & Business Council affiliates nationwide to offer BVA since the national Arts & Business Council launched the program in 1975.
Each year the Council oversees about 50 new BVA consulting projects, which generally last from 3 to 12 months.
