Highlights
The Arts & Business Council Awards 2007 was a celebration of the following award honorees who “rocked the arts” with their dedication, creativity and leadership.
AVATAR AWARD FOR ARTISTIC EXCELLENCE

Kenneth Gamble and Leon A. Huff were honored with the prestigious Avatar Award for achieving artistic excellence, garnering worldwide acclaim and serving as an inspiration to the community.
Pioneers of the Philadelphia Sound and founders of Philadelphia International Records, Kenneth Gamble and Leon A. Huff have written and produced over 170 gold and platinum records. “If You Don't Know Me by Now” by Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes, "Love Train" by the O'Jays, and "Me and Mrs. Jones" by Billy Paul are just a few of their many hits.

G. FRED DIBONA, JR. INDIVIDUAL LEADERSHIP AWARD

Louise and Alan Reed
Louise and Alan Reed were recognized for significant leadership and impact through their dedication to and vision for the region — as well as their support of many area arts and cultural institutions.
Louise’s work continues to be primarily with the Pennsylvania Ballet as a strong advocate for building new works and encouraging the Ballet to tour nationally and internationally. Alan, a firm believer in the Constitution, works closely with the National Constitution Center where he was instrumental in its successful capital campaign that enabled the Center to become a reality.

BUSINESS/ARTS PARTNERSHIP AWARDS
The Business/Arts Partnership Award recognizes a successful partnership between a business and an arts or cultural organization in two categories: a partnership between a small or mid-size business (annual revenues less than $250 million) with an arts organization; a partnership between a major business (annual revenues exceeding $250 million) with an arts organization.
BUSINESS/ARTS PARTNERSHIP AWARD: SMALL TO MID-SIZED BUSINESS

Steve Red, president and chief creative officer, Red Tettemer and Vicki Solot, founder and president, First Person Arts
Red Tettemer partnered with First Person Arts to provide a marketing and branding campaign with high-impact visual identity materials - and a significant strategic direction that even prompted a name change for First Person Arts to better clarify their identity. To further solidify their partnership, Red Tettemer provides First Person Arts with office space, enabling them easy access for collaborating.

Sean Kelley, Eastern State Penitentiary Historic Site, and Vince DeLaurentis, LUKOIL
LUKOIL’s advertising and marketing resources heightened awareness for Eastern State Penitentiary’s Terror Behind the Walls event—and for LUKOIL brand—in a cross-promotional, multi media campaign that was so successful, attendance grew by 20% over the previous record set in 2004.

BVA VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR

Susanne Iannece, organizational consultant, Iannece & Associates, Inc.
For Center City Opera Theater, Susanne produced a strategic plan that is serving as a road map for the organization over a 3-year period—and guided the planning committee and board in reaching consensus on goals and strategies.

As Philagraphika was planning a major international festival for early 2010, Tony provided the help to grow their event database from 2,500 names to 200,000 names over a 3-year period.

A volunteer in Business On Call since 2004, Carol brings energy and enthusiasm to many events. Her volunteer work at Hagley Museum and Library, Tyler Arboretum and Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts has been especially noteworthy.
