Dr. Luther Brady

Luther W. Brady, M.D., one of the world's foremost oncologists, has transformed the field of radiation oncology, serving as President of major professional societies in addition to receiving numerous honorary degrees from prestigious institutions throughout the world. All the while, Dr. Brady has demonstrated a fierce commitment to the arts, both as a patron and through board service for many arts organizations, including the Opera Company of Philadelphia, Settlement Music School, and the Curtis Institute of Music. Throughout his devoted service to these various institutions, Dr. Brady has remained directly involved with patients and his alma mater, George Washington University.

The G. Fred DiBona, Jr. Individual Leadership Award recognizes an individual, business or civic leader who has greatly contributed to one or more arts or cultural organizations in the region, exhibited dedication above and beyond their professional responsibilities and made a measurable impact on the region's cultural landscape. Dr. Luther Brady has established himself as a guiding light in the world of radiation oncology and developed multiple opportunities for the appreciation of art in many forms, such as the Luther W. Brady Curatorship of Japanese Art at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, where he serves on the Board of Trustees.
