Workshops for the Arts
Business On Board provides Board Governance Workshops for the Arts to help executive directors and board leaders address governance challenges, and to better recruit, manage, engage and retain board members.
The date of the next workshop has not been chosen and will be announced in the near future.
Benefits for Every Board
No matter the discipline, size, budget or stage of your organization, you can improve the effectiveness and impact of your board of directors.
By participating in Board Governance Workshops for the Arts, you will work with peers and experts to brainstorm on problems and share successes. You will also review case studies to understand real-world scenarios you may encounter. Workshops feature open Q&A to ensure your specific situation is addressed and to equip you with the knowledge you need for decision-making.
In short, you'll learn how to:
- Establish effective communications and expectations between your board and your executive director.
- Create awareness among members about persistent challenges and dynamic solutions.
- Improve your board's selection process for committees and maximize their effectiveness.
- Use your strategic plan to drive the organization and help steer the board.
- Equip your board with knowledge and resources for better management.
- Engage your board in fundraising.
Register to Attend
Participants are expected to attend both sessions of the workshop series. We recommend that each organization be represented by a senior staff member and a board member. The fee to attend is $50 per person for both sessions.
