Business On Call
Moving to a New Home
Over the last 17 years, the Business On Call program has been wildly successful providing opportunities for more than 800 business people to experience and learn more about the arts by volunteering their time and talents. And, those volunteer efforts helped 157 different arts organizations with their needs for ushers, special event helpers, tour guides, box office help and a myriad of other important behind-the-scenes needs. Many were repeat customers.
Just recently, we’ve forged a new alliance with Greater Philadelphia Cares, a nonprofit organization solely dedicated to providing a wealth of volunteer opportunities to business employees, retirees and other citizens throughout the region. Starting in the fall of 2011, Greater Philadelphia Cares will expand its operations to include placing volunteers with arts and cultural organizations. Our Business On Call volunteers will be Greater Philadelphia Cares special group of dedicated volunteers for the arts!
What this means is that arts organizations will now call on Greater Philadelphia Cares for their volunteer needs and you will be alerted by the Greater Philadelphia Cares staff on a variety of arts activities in which to volunteer. We will provide Greater Philadelphia Cares with a comprehensive list of all of our BOC volunteers and their contact information.

Our Thanks to You!
Inasmuch as we will not be in direct contact with our Business On Call volunteers, we do want to extend our appreciation and continue to broaden your experiences in the arts. Therefore, all active Business On Call volunteers will continue to receive special invitations to our Business Backstage series of events throughout the year. Also, because the transition to Greater Philadelphia Cares will not take effect until the fall, for the summer months we will maintain a list of all Business On Call volunteers and share that list with arts organizations that need volunteer assistance. Please let us know if you do not wish to be listed.
For those of you who have developed a strong bond with an arts organization where you continuously volunteer, we encourage you to continue your volunteering with them by being in direct contact with the Volunteer Coordinator at the organization. Should you need the name of the coordinator, we will be happy to provide that to you.
Lastly, keep the spirit of volunteering for the arts center stage in your lives. You have all made an enormous difference in the health and vibrancy of our arts and cultural organizations.
