SUCCESS STORy
BVA volunteer Susanne Iannece received the 2007 BVA of the Year Award at the Arts & Business Council Annual Awards Luncheon for her outstanding work with Center City Opera Theater (CCOT) in helping to create a three-year strategic plan.
When Artistic Director Andrew Kurtz and General Director Jonathon Loy began to talk about the future of CCOT, founded in 1999, Susanne listened. Among the BVA projects completed in the last two years or currently underway, these examples illustrate the rich variety of arts and cultural organizations our volunteers serve and the level of expertise they offer to the community:
Ellen Rosenberg-Caserta of J&B Software resolved a number of issues relating to compensation and benefits for the staff of The Clay Studio, successfully balancing employee preferences with sound fiscal management.
Rita Waters of Waters & Associates facilitated a strategic planning process for Brandywine Ballet Company, which resulted in a three-year plan to guide the ballet as well as a template for future planning.
Barbara Bosha of Bosha Design helped Hedgerow Theatre realize a strategic goal of professionalizing their image by developing a new logo as well as a visual identity style guide that the staff will be able to use for many years.
Mary Holland of CICADA Architecture/Planning, Inc. and recent retiree Barry Lurie led Miro Dance Theatre through the steps required to create a three-year strategic plan.
Greg Ricciardi of 20nine Design Studios designed and planned the production of a new organizational brochure to tell the story of the Friends of the Free Library of Philadelphia.
Cindy Osofsky of City National Bank worked with the staff and board of The American Poetry Review to develop a strategic plan as well as new policies regarding endowment and investments.
