Request Legal Assistance
We serve on the front lines, helping artists and arts and cultural organizations resolve their legal problems on a pro bono and low cost basis through a range of services:
- Legal Lines: Call us for a no cost and confidential, one-time telephone consultation with a volunteer attorney on an arts-related legal issue.
- ArtFax: If you need a short document reviewed, our lawyers provide feedback to clients on legal documents up to three pages in length
- Full Service Representation: PVLA volunteer lawyers take on cases for artists and arts and cultural organizations pro-bono, subject to all of the ethical and other requirements of any attorney-client relationship. Nonprofit arts and cultural organizations with an annual budget of $1 million or less and artists whose gross income is $35,000 or less per year ($55,000 for a married or cohabiting couple) with a $3000 credit per dependent qualify for Full Service Representation and there is a $25 application fee for individuals. For nonprofit arts and cultural organizations, the application fee is $75.
All artists and arts and cultural organizations are eligible for Legal Lines and ArtFaxes, regardless of income or operating budget.
